About the Role:

As a Scriptwriter for our Quiz & IQ Content IP at YAAS, you'll be creating India's most engaging destination for intelligence-led entertainment. You'll write scripts that challenge minds, test knowledge, and spark curiosity in a fun, competitive format. This role requires an understanding of quiz psychology, sharp writing skills, and the ability to make brain teasers both challenging and entertaining while driving massive engagement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Research and write 48-50 high-quality quiz scripts monthly for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts covering IQ tests, brain teasers, and knowledge challenges.
• Create presenter-led quiz content with viral hooks that drives the Retention Rate.
• Write vox pop scripts for on-ground interactions that test real people's intelligence in relatable, shareable ways.
• Provide editors with specific visual cues, on-screen text requirements, B-roll suggestions, and timing notes to execute scripts effectively.
• Structure scripts for maximum retention hooks, progressive difficulty and strong CTAs.
• Develop quiz questions across varied difficulty levels that balance challenge with solvability.
• Analyse performance data (retention rates, comment engagement, shares, replays) and adapt writing approach based on audience response.
• Work collaboratively with presenters, video editors, and production team to ensure smooth content workflow.
• Manage the script-to-publication process (3-4 hours writing, 3-4 hours production support daily).
• Occasionally interface with the team on format development and content strategy direction.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience creating short-form quiz, trivia, or knowledge-based content with measurable engagement metrics.
• Understanding of IQ tests, brain teasers, logic puzzles, and competitive quiz formats.

Required Skills:

• Strong research skills to create accurate, challenging quiz questions across multiple categories (logic, math, general knowledge, lateral thinking, pop culture).
• Excellent writing abilities without over-reliance on AI tools (should use LLMs strategically to enhance ideation, not replace original creativity).
• Understanding of visual storytelling and how quiz scripts translate to engaging video content.
• Demonstrated ability to write scroll-stopping hooks and maintain viewer attention throughout.
• Experience analysing content performance metrics and adjusting strategy accordingly.
• Knowledge of the Indian audience and what resonates with viewers across age groups and education levels.
• Portfolio of previous work showing writing quality, retention rates, and engagement results.

Nice to Have:

• Background in education, competitive exams (if JEE, CAT, UPSC), quizzing circuits, or puzzle creation.
• Experience with game shows, trivia content, or knowledge-based entertainment formats.
• Personal quiz/brain teaser content channel or portfolio of published viral quiz content.
• Experience with YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, video strategy.
• Knowledge of video production workflows and how scripts translate to final edits.
• Understanding of retention science, platform algorithms, and what makes quiz content shareable.

What We're Not Looking For:

• Generic "top 10 riddles" thinking without strategic hook development or format innovation.
• Inability to verify facts, create original questions, or understand difficulty calibration.
• Resistance to learning AI tools, testing new formats, or adapting to performance feedback.
• Slow output or inability to manage multiple content timelines and production schedules.
• Lack of awareness of what's happening in the quiz, brain teaser, and knowledge content creator space.
