About the opportunity

We are currently expanding our AFC service offerings and looking for people at various levels and with demonstrable subject matter exposure and relevant consulting and/or technical experience to help us build the business and support our clients.

As an AFC Consultant / Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to help our clients mitigate Financial Crime Compliance risks as well as to improve their ability to meet regulatory requirements, expectations, and provide industry guidance for sound programs and controls.

You will build your professional skills in a variety of project experiences by assisting our clients to understand the complexities of issues they face, and by implementing solutions to help them remediate identified issues.

You will:

• Work as a part of the delivery team and be involved in project management, stakeholder engagement, document reviews, client interviews, process walk-throughs, developing solutions and drafting reports and leading complete projects for other clients.
• Be involved in engagements relating to assessing AFC risks at the enterprise and business unit level, drafting and enhancing policies and procedures, conducting compliance assessments, internal controls assessments and digital transformation initiatives
• Contribute to the design, development, configuration, and optimisation of scoring modules, including calibration, threshold setting, and performance monitoring.
• Support project leads / coaches in executing various transformation driven consulting engagements
• Build & establish trust with your clients & business partners to better serve their organizations
• Obtain experience in process improvement analysis, business process re-engineering, and delivery/ implementation of large technology solutions.
• Conduct required project specific research, data analysis, templates & reports
• Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
• Present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members
• Assist in proposal development and business development initiatives
• Actively support in ongoing research & contributing to thought leadership

• Be provided a variety of formal and informal training programs to help you acquire and build specialized skills faster.

Technical

We are looking for sharp, enthusiastic individuals with hands-on development experience on Scala/Spark, Hadoop, platform operations, preferably with Quantexa Certified Data Engineer Certification.

• Experience in Quantexa Scoring module development is required.
• Quantexa Scoring Engineer Certification will be an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Candidates must be suitably experienced in:

• Scoring module development - implementing scoring logic, rule configuration, feature engineering, model calibration, threshold optimisation, performance tuning, and deployment.
• Understanding of risk scoring methodologies, alert generation logic, and score explainability.
• Experience working with model governance, validation documentation, and performance monitoring.
• Data integration - ETL tools like IBM DataStage and Informatica. Ingestion mechanisms like Flume & Kafka.
• Data modelling - Dimensional modelling using RDBMS, NoSQL, and Big Data technologies.
• Big Data - Hadoop ecosystem, distributions like Cloudera/Hortonworks, Pig and HIVE.
• Data processing frameworks - Scala/Python/Spark.
• Hands-on experience with databases like Oracle, MS SQL Server, NoSQL (HBase/Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Data Platform administration for Hadoop, Elastic, Oracle.
• Experienced in data mapping, relational data structures, and object orientation.
• Exposure to containers, Kubernetes, application setup (load balancer), logging, Prometheus.
• Statistical approaches and methods and their application in risk scoring use cases.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology.
• Model documentation, ideally AML model governance.

Functional

• Between 3-8 years of experience
• Bachelors / Masters degree
• Subject matter focus in FCC space (AML, Economic Sanctions, Fraud etc) will be an advantage
• Strong analytical skills, understanding of complex issues, ability to quickly understand and leverage information, conceptual and creative problem-solving excellence.
• Tech-driven mindset, and up to date with digital and technology literature and trends in the domain
• Excellent communications skills in English and ability to articulate problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team and an inclusive environment
• Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
• Comfortable with ambiguous / dynamic situations
• Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
