Quant Developer - HFT

Role Summary

We are building a low-latency trading system for Indian equity and derivatives markets from scratch. This role is for a junior Quant Developer who will work closely with senior developers and traders to build, optimize, and operate performance-critical trading systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role, focused on C++ systems programming, correctness, and latency. You will gradually take ownership of core components as the platform scales.

What You Will Work On

• Developing low-latency C++ components for:
• Market data processing (real-time feeds, tick handling)
• Strategy execution pipelines
• Order management and exchange connectivity
• Using STL and modern C++ to build:
• High-performance data structures
• Memory-efficient, thread-safe components
• Working on multithreaded systems where performance and correctness matter
• Profiling and optimizing code for:
• Latency
• CPU usage
• Memory allocation
• Supporting:
• Strategy implementation
• Backtesting and simulation tools
• Learning:
• Market microstructure
• Exchange behavior (NSE/BSE)
• Production trading system failure modes

3. Required Skills Must Have

Programming & Systems

• Strong proficiency in C++ (C++14/17/20)
• Solid working knowledge of STL, including:
• Containers (vector, map, unordered_map, etc.)
• Algorithms
• Iterators
• Smart pointers
• Strong understanding of:
• Data structures and algorithms
• Memory management
• Object-oriented design in C++

Concurrency & OS

• Understanding of:
• Multithreading basics
• Mutexes, atomics, and synchronization primitives
• Comfortable working on Linux
• Basic knowledge of:
• Operating system fundamentals
• Process vs thread behavior

Networking & Real-Time Concepts

• Basic understanding of:
• TCP/UDP
• Real-time data processing
• Ability to reason about latency and performance

Background

• Degree or strong foundation in:
