Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on QC Engineer to ensure product quality through rigorous shop floor inspections, testing, and documentation. Work closely with production teams to identify defects early, maintain compliance with international standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives using quality tools like NCR, CAPA, 8D, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke.

Coordinate with the Quality Head and production teams to ensure quality systems are effectively implemented at all stagesfrom inward inspection through in-process checks to final and pre-dispatch inspection. Support process and product improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate quality records and ensuring all measuring equipment remains properly calibrated and functional.

Reports to: Quality Head

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing:

• Conduct inward, in-process, final, and Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI)
• Perform testing: tensile, elongation, insulation resistance, dimensional checks
• Use measuring tools: callipers, micrometres, gauges, tensile testers
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials

Calibration & Equipment:

• Manage calibration schedules and records for all measuring instruments
• Ensure tools are maintained and within calibration validity

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare inspection/test reports and maintain NCRs
• Maintain inspection records, test certificates, and calibration logs per ISO requirements

Problem-Solving & Improvement:

• Conduct root cause analysis (8D) and implement CAPA with production teams to resolve quality issues
• Provide inputs for process and product improvements
• Participate in Kaizen activities and implement Poka-Yoke systems
• Support customer complaint investigations

Compliance:

• Ensure ISO quality standards and customer specifications are met
• Support Quality Head during audits
• Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, and Quality Checklists

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Industrial Engineering
• 3+ years in Quality Control (wire/cable/metal products preferred)

Technical & Professional Skills

• Hands-on with measuring instruments: callipers, micrometres, gauges, tensile testers
• Experience with calibration management
• Familiarity with quality tools: NCR, CAPA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Working knowledge of ISO documentation and MS Office
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Shop-floor oriented and organized with records
• Fluent in English; Hindi preferred; Marathi a plus
