Quality Control Chemist

The Bare Bar is a natural skincare brand manufactured at our in-house facility operated by Clean Beauty Private Limited in Bangalore. Clean Beauty specializes in skincare and personal care manufacturing for both our brand and third-party clients, operating under structured GMP and GLP systems. This role is based at the manufacturing facility under Clean Beauty Private Limited.

Role Description

To ensure timely testing, documentation, and release of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in compliance with approved specifications, GMP norms, and laboratory standards.

This is a hands-on lab role within a growing manufacturing setup.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Raw Material & Packaging Material Testing

• Sampling and testing of RM/PM as per approved specifications
• COA verification and documentation
• Approve/reject materials based on test results
• Ensure segregation and identification of approved/rejected materials

2. In-Process Quality Control

• Conduct in-process checks (pH, viscosity, appearance, density, fill weight)
• Coordinate with production for corrective actions
• Maintain in-process testing records

3. Finished Goods Testing

• Perform finished goods analysis as per specifications
• Prepare QC reports for batch review
• Support QA team during batch release process

4. Microbiology & Stability Support

• Ensure microbial limit tests are conducted as per schedule
• Maintain stability samples and retention sample records
• Monitor shelf-life documentation

5. Laboratory Compliance & GLP

• Maintain GLP compliance in the QC lab
• Ensure calibration of lab instruments
• Maintain chemical inventory, reference standards and MSDS records
• Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate QC registers and test records
• Assist in deviation reporting and CAPA implementation
• Support internal audits and documentation reviews

Qualifications

• B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry / Microbiology) OR B.Pharm / M.Pharm
• 25 years experience in QC within Cosmetics / Personal Care / FMCG manufacturing
• Hands-on experience in raw material, in-process and finished goods testing
• Strong knowledge of pH, viscosity, appearance and basic microbial testing
• Familiarity with GMP and GLP practices
• Good documentation discipline and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
