Job Description
Quality Assurance Tech at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level, both manually and with automated tools.
They are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion, with guidance.
QAT would be responsible for understanding the features and components and detailed functional requirements well enough, coming up with the test cases with some guidance, test execution and reporting with high bar on quality.
QATs are technically savvy in use of software, computers and devices, runs automated scripts, analyzes failures, support automation, can install and configure software, can use debug settings, have technical ability to gather logs, traces, etc.
to add to bug reports when provided with instructions.
They assist developers or other testers and maintain a high quality test environment, recommends improvements to SOPs, tools and metrics.
Key job responsibilities
1.
Testing Applications and Products both manually and using automated tools.
2.
Install and configure software, use debug settings and have technical ability to gather logs, traces, etc.
to add to bug reports when provided with instructions.

Run automated scripts, analyze failures, support automation.

Identify issues, deep dive, troubleshoot, communicate to stake holders and escalation of issue and providing status reports

Assist developers or other testers and maintain a high
- quality test environment, recommends improvements to SOPs, tools and metrics.
A day in the life
QATs create and execute test plans with high quality test cases for straightforward scenarios involving one or more product components and features.
QATs perform initial defect triage and root cause analysis.
QATs correctly log defects and provide relevant data to partner teams so they can address issues.
QATs analyze test change requests (e.g., addition, removal, or modification to existing features etc.) and provide recommendations on how the change might impact test scope and/or product behavior.
QATs works on internal tools and automation with basic knowledge in a scripting language.
QATs use their knowledge to debug, troubleshoot, create and maintain test automation scripts .
QATs create simple tools to reduce manual effort or more accurately audit component or improve feature quality.
QATs train new team members on team procedures.
About the team
Alexa Communications (connecting friends and family) is looking for QAT to support execution of tests across platforms at the user level, both manually and with automated tools, understand and ramp up on testing procedures, guidelines and policies for new devices and apply the same in day
- to
- day work to ensure it meets Amazon’s high quality bar.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education
- Good analytical ability and QA acumen
- Ability to understand technical specifications and analyze log files
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably, have experience in Java/C++/Perl/Python based automation and/or user
- level automation tools such as Selenium/Web Driver
