QA Software Engineer - Network Routing Protocol testing

How You will Contribute:

As a QA Software Engineer you will be creating and running tests to find defects in a feature. You will review feature design documents, create testplans, execute tests, raising any bugs you find and work with development engineers to fix that bug. Test Automation is a significant part of the role and you will automate all tests in Python to allow continual automated regression tests of images.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate in review of requirements and contribute to detailed specification of features for cloud based network orchestration products
• Define test plans and test cases, to ensure known quality prior to the release of new features.
• Participate in networking protocol testing e.g Layer 2 /layer 3 protocol testing.
• Execute test cases, maintain and report on product feature performance, conformance, and regression status
• Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure quality for the features.
• Automate QA testing for the features in each release
• Share in maintaining core test automation with the team
• Record and track product defects
• Recreate customer-reported defects to clarify problem definitions.

Participate in backlog defect reduction. Write scripts, test utilities, and other development tools. Lead Meetings and Brainstorming sessions.

Must Haves –

• 6+ years experience working in a software QA role
• Experience writing tests in Python, or similar dynamic languages.
• ⁠Exposure in L2/L3 protocol testing or network protocol testing.
• Experience working with test automation systems
• Experience of ISO9001/TL9000
• Knowledge and demonstrated usage of Linux OS (ideally debian), containers and Kubernetes desirable
• Any knowledge of Atlassian toolset, Jenkins, Git, Robot framework would be an advantage
• Can demonstrate an understanding of REST based web services, cloud platforms and web UIs
• Experience with network protocols and services
• Ideally experience with security testing.

• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent degree
