Role Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer to ensure the reliability, safety, and compliance of space-grade components and systems as per ECSS/MIL. The role involves overseeing quality processes across Design and Development, manufacturing in Production, assembly, integration, and testing phases of Satellite & Sub-systems such as avionics, Power Electronics & On-Board Control systems & RF systems, and payloads. Expertise in spacecraft quality assurance, satellite QA engineering, aerospace quality control, avionics quality engineering, payload integration testing, RF systems verification, power systems QA (EPS, batteries), and on-board computer QA (OBC/CDH) is essential.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain desktop GUI applications using Python 3.x and Qt frameworks (PyQt / PySide)
  • Develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and standards (e.g., ISRO-PAS, ECSS, MIL-STD, Parts Approval and Stress (PAS 1.0/2.0), ECSS-Q-ST-60C/70C standards).
  • Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) to ensure quality requirements are embedded.
  • Mandatory requirement: experience with network analysis, de rating analysis, worst case analysis, identify potential failures in design and its mitigation strategies for Electronics QA, worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), parts stress analysis (PSA), derating guidelines (NASA/ESA), radiation hardness assurance (RHA).
  • Conduct audits and process evaluations across vendors and internal teams, including vendor qualification audits.
  • Ensure traceability and configuration control of components and documentation & Version control of Designs as well as documents, configuration management (CMII).
  • Support risk management and failure mode analysis (FMEA, FTA, FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, Criticality Analysis)).
  • Monitor and verify compliance with ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures), PID, and DTRs.
  • Coordinate environmental test results (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-810 environmental testing, vibro-acoustic testing, thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) oversight.
  • Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) tools like 8D, 5-Why.
  • Satellite assembly & integration QA/QC, launch vehicle integration QA.
  • Hands-on with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT/HASS), digital twin verification, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) quality.
  • Cleanroom ISO 5/7 protocols, ESD control (ANSI/ESD S20.20), DO-254 hardware certification.


Qualifications & Skill Set

  • Bachelors or masters degree in electrical or Electronics & Communication/EE Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in QA, preferably in aerospace or space systems.
  • Familiarity with standards like ECSS, ISRO-PAS, MIL-STD-883, IPC-A-610, IPC-620 wiring standards.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools, test benches, and environmental chambers.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with satellite subsystems (e.g., Reaction Wheel, Battery, EPS, CDH).
  • Experience with satellite Assembly & Integration QA/QC.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical quality control.
  • Exposure to cleanroom protocols and ESD-safe handling.
  • Certification/Knowledge in Six Sigma, AS9100, or ISO 9001, AS9100 quality management, ISO 13485.
