Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Backend Developer with 10+ years of hands-on development experience in building scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Python, Django, REST APIs, AWS, and SQL, with strong architectural and problem-solving capabilities.

This role requires someone who can design backend systems from scratch, lead technical initiatives, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in performance, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django.
• Architect and build robust RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and database schemas.
• Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and product managers.
• Lead backend design discussions and provide architectural guidance.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Implement security best practices for APIs and backend services.
• Mentor junior developers and drive engineering excellence.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Extensive experience with Django / Django REST Framework.
• Strong hands-on experience in building and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2).
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of system design and distributed systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached).
• Exposure to message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Understanding of performance tuning and load balancing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
