Python Backend Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building a next-generation FinTech backend platform requiring high performance, strong reliability, and fast iteration. You will contribute to real-time microservices, configurable rule engines, secure APIs, and workflows supporting high-scale consumer experiences. This is a product-first role suited to engineers who have worked in product teams and enjoy startup-style execution.

Location: Kochi (Onsite/Hybrid)

Experience: 210 years (Multiple levels)

Team: Core Product Engineering (starting with 2+ strong product engineers)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build backend microservices using Python + FastAPI

Design and optimise low-latency APIs

Work with Redis + Postgres for caching and persistence

Implement config-driven business logic (no hard-coded rules)

Work with Orkes/Temporal workflow patterns (future ready)

Deploy and operate services on AWS

Apply Zero Trust principles across all services

Write unit tests, integration tests, automated QA

Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude)

Collaborate with product/architecture to deliver modules end-to-end

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

Strong Python proficiency

FastAPI + asyncio experience

REST API development

Redis + Postgres expertise

AWS experience (IAM, Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS, VPC)

Strong security mindset, Zero Trust fundamentals

Clean, testable code discipline

Product engineering background

GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

Orkes/Temporal awareness

Microservices design patterns

Performance tuning and caching strategies

Exposure to distributed tracing

Interest in FinTech, UPI, payments, rewards, gamification
