Job Title: PYP Math Teacher (International Baccalaureate)

Location: DLF Phase 1, Gurgaon

Job Summary

The PYP Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing mathematics within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The teacher fosters inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and real-world application of mathematical skills while supporting students academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Planning & Instruction

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based mathematics lessons aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.
• Develop units of inquiry integrating mathematics with transdisciplinary themes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to support conceptual understanding and problem-solving.

Assessment & Reporting

• Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB standards.
• Monitor student progress using assessment data to inform instruction.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress with parents.
• Maintain accurate academic records and prepare report cards.

Classroom Environment

• Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
• Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and reflection.
• Promote international-mindedness and the IB Learner Profile attributes.

Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with grade-level and specialist teachers to plan integrated units.
• Participate in PYP meetings, curriculum planning sessions, and professional development.
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and IB accreditation processes.

Professional Development

• Stay updated with IB policies and best practices in mathematics education.
• Participate in IB workshops and ongoing training.
• Engage in reflective teaching practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Education or Mathematics (Teaching Certification required).
• IB Category Training (Category 1 / 2 / 3) in PYP is a prerequisite.
• Prior IB classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of IB pedagogy, assessment practices, and learner-centred instruction.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and reflective practice skills.
