Job Description

Ink Orbit is a modern publishing company working with authors, professionals, and thought leaders to help them publish and distribute their books globally. We work with aspiring and established authors who want to transform their ideas, expertise, and stories into professionally published books.


We are looking for a Publishing Consultant (Author Acquisition & Sales) who can guide aspiring authors, convert publishing inquiries into projects, and support the author onboarding process.

This role combines consultative sales and author acquisition. The candidate will be responsible for interacting with aspiring authors, understanding their publishing goals, and converting leads into publishing projects while coordinating with the internal publishing team.


The ideal candidate should have experience working in self-publishing companies, book publishing houses, or educational publishing organizations.

Key Responsibilities
Author Acquisition & Sales
  • Engage with aspiring authors interested in publishing their books
  • Consult authors about publishing options and guide them through the publishing process
  • Explain publishing services including editing, cover design, book production, distribution, and marketing
  • Follow up with inquiries and convert leads into publishing projects
  • Prepare quotations and explain publishing packages to authors
Author Onboarding
  • Act as the primary point of contact for authors during the onboarding stage
  • Build strong relationships with authors and understand their publishing goals
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and transition of projects to the publishing team
Skills & Requirements
  • 24 years of experience in publishing sales, author acquisition, or book publishing consultancy
  • Strong understanding of self-publishing models and book production workflows
  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to guide aspiring authors and convert inquiries into publishing projects
  • Experience handling leads, follow-ups, and closing deals
  • Self-driven personality with strong sales orientation
