Proposal Engineer (Electrical)

We are looking for the right candidate for the position of Proposal Engineer for our client, a leading OEM/EPC company based in Pune.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare cost estimations for all Electrical LT Panels.
• Prepare basic engineering packages, including SLD diagrams and basic plant layouts.
• Estimate costs for APFC Panels and RTAPFC Panels (Thyristor-based), across various voltages.
• Prepare cost estimations for MCC, IMCC, Soft Starter-based Panels, and all VFD Panels.
• Cost estimation for PDB, MLDB, and Street Light Panels.
• Prepare PCC Panel costing across various KVA ratings of transformers.
• Calculate and estimate busbar costing for all switchgear ratings.
• Costing based on type chart selection for all switchgear makes.
• Estimate costing for busduct panels (Aluminium & Copper material) and busduct flanges.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of switchgear selection as per customer requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret LT Panel drawings.
• Comfortable with travel when required.

Proposal & Costing Activities:

• Prepare technically accurate offers for international markets (end customers / EPC contractors).
• Understand customer requirements and prepare techno-economically viable offers.
• Generate enquiries and obtain quotes from vendors for various bought-out components.
• Coordinate with internal departments for scope-specific cost inputs.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Materials and estimate the lowest cost with support from internal teams and vendors.
• Handle supplier quotation negotiations.
• Ensure timely release of proposal documents to project/engineering departments.
• Prepare deliverable lists and maintain proposal schedules.
• Track and manage proposal delivery to meet deadlines.

Documentation & Communication:

• Prepare and respond to Technical Queries (TQs) raised by customers/vendors.
• Participate in technical kick-off meetings with Sales and Operations.
• Utilize various proposal tools to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial estimates.
• Prepare commercial summaries in customer-specific formats.
• Coordinate effectively with the Procurement team.
