PM + Test Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to take on a dual responsibility as Project Manager (PM) and Test Lead for embedded systems projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for endtoend project delivery, while also leading the testing strategy, planning, and execution to ensure delivery of highquality embedded products.

This hybrid role requires strong technical understanding of embedded systems, excellent project management capabilities, and handson test leadership experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Project Management Responsibilities

• Lead endtoend planning and execution of embedded system projects (firmware, hardwaresoftware integration, RTOS, device drivers, etc.).
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, effort estimates, risk registers, and dashboards.
• Manage crossfunctional teams including development, firmware, QA, DevOps, and customer stakeholders.
• Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, Retrospectives (Agile / Hybrid SDLC).
• Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones using project management tools (Jira, MS Project, etc.).
• Drive requirement clarification, scope management, and change control.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, compliance, and embedded lifecycle processes.
• Act as the primary customer and stakeholder communication owner, including demos, reporting, and escalation handling.
• Coordinate with Release Engineering for firmware release planning, branching, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.

2. Test Leadership Responsibilities

• Define the overall test strategy for embedded systems (unit, integration, functional, performance, hardwaresoftware testing).
• Develop and review test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and traceability matrices.
• Lead execution of:
• Embedded firmware testing
• Board BringUp and interface testing (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.)
• Regression and system validation
• Set up and oversee test environments, test benches, instrumentation, and automation frameworks.
• Work closely with developers to ensure defect reproducibility, debugging support, and rootcause collaboration.
• Own defect management and reporting in tools like Jira, q Test, Code collaborator etc.
• Drive continuous improvements in test processes, automation, coverage, and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with domainspecific standards

Mandatory Skills

driving mid-to-large embedded projects, planning, estimation, budgeting, and risk management, embedded test methodologies, test automation for embedded systems (Python, Robot Framework, custom scripts), defect management

Desirable Skills

understand C/C++ code, logs, call traces, memory dumps. Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, or similar debugging tools
