DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager – Automation (Finance) is responsible for leading and delivering automation and analytics projects within the Finance function, with a focus on Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Business Intelligence (BI), and process improvements. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with defined standards and strategic priorities. The position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), development teams, and supplier partners to drive digital transformation in finance operations.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Delivery Execution
Execute high-quality automation and analytics projects, particularly in RPA (e.g., UiPath) and BI (e.g., Power BI).
Ensure all developments adhere to defined project and control standards including documentation, testing, and deployment practices.
Collaborate with SMEs and developers to conduct technical assessments of CI Hopper items.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely and effective delivery.
2. Hopper Management & Discovery
Contribute to idea generation and discovery sessions using tools such as whiteboarding, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
Work with SMEs and Business Process Owners to define project scope and requirements.
Assign developers, track project execution, and ensure change management practices are followed.
3. Resource Management & Team Support
Coordinate work assignments across Cummins and supplier resources.
Monitor individual and team performance to ensure project goals are met.
Provide functional and technical support to team members, including coaching and knowledge sharing.
4. Project Management Operations
Lead project planning sessions, define scope and milestones, and track progress against goals.
Manage project risks and issues using standard tools; propose and implement mitigation strategies.
Maintain detailed documentation, including project notes, metrics, and status reports.
Facilitate communication with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Skills and Experience Needed:
Technical Skills:
Strong experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – UiPath preferred
Proficiency in BI tools – Power BI, Tableau
Experience in Finance operations – P2P, R2R, O2C, FP&A
Hands-on knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management
Skilled in process mapping and root cause analysis
Familiarity with version control , testing protocols , and deployment processes
Project Management Experience:
5–8 years of experience in project management, particularly within Finance automation or digital transformation initiatives.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and team coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies) is preferred.
