Project Leader

The Project Leader (Civil) is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of construction project execution, from planning and design coordination to site delivery and client handover. This role involves overseeing project teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards, and maintaining strong coordination among consultants, contractors, and clients.

The Project Leader serves as the central point of accountability for project progress and performance, ensuring successful completion in line with organizational and client objectives.

About the Role:

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and execution plans in coordination with senior management.
• Define project scope, deliverables, and milestones.
• Implement project management processes to monitor progress, control costs, and manage risks.
• Ensure adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, and construction standards.

2. Site Management & Coordination

• Supervise and manage civil and structural activities at the project site.
• Coordinate between architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Review daily and weekly site progress reports and address technical or logistical challenges.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.

3. Design & Technical Coordination

• Review design drawings, GFCs, and shop drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Coordinate with consultants and design teams for timely issue resolution and drawing releases.
• Evaluate construction methodologies and recommend efficient alternatives.

4. Financial & Contractual Control

• Prepare and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Review and certify contractor bills, variation claims, and BOQs.
• Coordinate procurement schedules to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Support management in vendor negotiations and contract administration.

5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce quality assurance and control measures on all civil works.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and ensure closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs).

6. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as a key liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Conduct and document periodic progress review meetings.
• Ensure timely communication and reporting to all stakeholders.
• Maintain positive client relationships and ensure satisfaction through transparent communication.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation including drawings, RFIs, MOMs, and status reports.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports and dashboards.
• Track critical project metrics schedule, cost, quality, and risk indicators.

8. Project Handover & Close-out

• Ensure proper completion of snag lists, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.
• Conduct lessons-learned sessions and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering (Masters in Construction / Project Management preferred).
• 1015 years of experience in civil construction and project management.
• Hands-on experience managing medium to large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil, structural, and finishing works.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary project teams.
