Job Description – Project Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Mumbai
Experience: 3–7 years (HVAC domain)
Employment Type: Contractual (On TeamLease Payroll)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer – HVAC who has hands‑on expertise in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC systems, specifically Chillers, AHUs, VRF/VRV systems. The role involves project execution, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion of HVAC installation activities at client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Execute HVAC project activities as per approved drawings and technical specifications.

  • Supervise site installation of Chillers, AHUs, VRF/VRV systems, pumps, pipelines, ducts, valves, etc.

  • Plan day‑to‑day work and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and installation guidelines.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform testing and commissioning of complete HVAC systems.

  • Conduct performance checks, system balancing, and ensure equipment operates as per design.

  • Troubleshoot system issues during commissioning.

Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain installation quality as per standards and client requirements.

  • Prepare daily reports, commissioning reports, material consumption details, and project documentation.

  • Verify and certify contractor work bills.

Client & Vendor Interaction

  • Coordinate with clients during installation phases.

  • Attend site meetings and provide technical updates.

  • Liaise with vendors for timely supply and installation support.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in HVAC project execution.

  • Strong experience in installation, testing & commissioning of:

    • Chillers (Air‑cooled/Water‑cooled)

    • AHUs/FCUs

    • VRF/VRV systems

  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, controls, piping, ducting & site execution practices.

  • Ability to read HVAC drawings (layout, P&ID, sections).

  • Good communication and site management skills.

  • Must be able to manage contractors and ensure timely project delivery.

Educational Qualification

  • Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
