Job Description
Job Title / Designation: Project Director
Role details: Must have handled at least Rs. 2000-3000 crores worth of single project in industrial development.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Masters and additional MBA preferred).
- 25+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial development projects, with 57 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience in EPC, PMC, PPP, or JV-led projects, with strong technical, commercial, and strategic skills.
Key roles and responsibilities.
1. Project Leadership & Governance
- Lead end-to-end execution of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, water systems, STP, CETP, utilities, warehouses, logistics parks, and industrial facilities.
- Define project vision, strategy, and governance structures to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
- Act as the single authority for strategic decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Ensure alignment of projects with corporate strategy and organizational goals.
2. Strategic Planning & Corporate Interface
- Support business planning, project prioritization, and investment decisions.
- Advise senior management and the board on project feasibility, financial returns, and strategic risks.
- Lead preparation of business cases, DPRs, and project proposals for new infrastructure initiatives.
3. Technical & Engineering Oversight
- Oversee civil, E&M, and multidisciplinary works across the project lifecycle.
- Approve designs, construction methodologies, technology integration, and value engineering solutions.
- Ensuring integration of smart infrastructure, automation, and digital tools (BIM, SCADA, IoT) for operational efficiency.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and handover of allocated land to operations teams or end users.
- Ensure as-built documentation, training, and warranty management are complete.
- Support operational readiness, performance monitoring, and finalization of long-term maintenance strategies.
4. Planning, Cost & Schedule Management
- Approve and monitor detailed project schedules, budgets, cash flows, and resource allocation.
- Implement robust cost-control, productivity, and schedule management systems.
- Ensure project P&L, ROI, and cost efficiency across all phases.
5. Commercial, Contract & Legal Management
- Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with terms and quality requirements.
- Review, negotiate, and finalize Land Lease Agreements, Tripartite & Bipartite agreements, and other legal contracts.
- Oversee claims, change orders, variations, and dispute resolution in coordination with commercial and legal teams.
6. Marketing, Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead project marketing, promotion, and investor engagement.
- Interface with potential tenants, end-users, developers, financiers, and government agencies.
- Facilitate public-private partnerships, JV collaborations, and investment negotiations.
- Ensure strong coordination with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
