Role Overview
The Program Coordinator ECO & BOM Control supports the Manufacturing Program Manager (MPM) by enforcing execution discipline across Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bill of Materials (BOM) control, and program timelines.
This role is execution focused, with strong emphasis on tracking, coordination, governance, and visibility. The incumbent ensures that all ECOs, BOM updates, and cross functional deliverables are planned, tracked, and executed on schedule, with clear ownership and escalation.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, assertive in follow-ups, and experienced in managing complex, cross functional programs using structured tools and dashboards.
Primary Mission
To establish and enforce program execution discipline by:
- Tracking all ECOs and BOM changes end-to-end
- Driving adherence to committed timelines across teams
- Identifying schedule risks and scope creep early
- Providing clear, accurate program status visibility to leadership
Key Responsibilities
1. ECO Lifecycle Tracking
Own end-to-end tracking of all Engineering Change Orders across the program.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a centralized ECO tracker (status, owner, dependencies)
- Track ECO progress from initiation validation release implementation
- Ensure no ECO is released without proper tracking and timeline alignment
- Proactively highlight delays, blockers, and execution risks
2. BOM Control and Version Management
Ensure strict discipline in BOM management across design and manufacturing.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain BOM version control and detailed change logs
- Track all add / delete / modify actions linked to ECOs
- Ensure alignment between Design BOM and Manufacturing BOM
- Flag inconsistencies, gaps, or unapproved changes
3. Timeline and Milestone Tracking
Drive schedule adherence across all program teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules
- Track weekly progress against committed milestones
- Identify schedule variance and escalate risks early
- Ensure clear ownership and accountability for every deliverable
4. Dashboard and Reporting
Create consistent, transparent program visibility for leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop dashboards covering:
- ECO status
- Timeline adherence
- Open and pending actions
- Provide weekly status reports to the MPM and leadership
- Clearly highlight critical risks, delays, and bottlenecks (no data masking)
5. Meeting Cadence and Execution Governance
Drive structured and disciplined program communication.
Responsibilities include:
- Schedule and run weekly program review meetings
- Align stakeholders on priorities, risks, and timelines
- Capture action items with owners and due dates
- Rigorously track and close commitments
6. Risk and Scope Control
Ensure controlled execution and change discipline.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify scope creep and unplanned changes early
- Ensure all changes follow the formal ECO process
- Highlight risks impacting timelines, cost, or quality
- Support the MPM with timely escalations
Required Experience
- 38 years of experience in program coordination or project management roles
- Experience in manufacturing, hardware, or engineering environments preferred
- Proven ability to track and manage complex, crossfunctional programs
Tools & Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
- Project and program management tools (Excel, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar)
- Dashboard creation and reporting
- Timeline planning and dependency management

- ECO closure timeline adherence
- Accuracy and consistency of BOM control
- Reduction in schedule slippage
- Clarity and reliability of program tracking
