Production Supervisor Electronics Assembly & Testing Plant

Role Summary

Responsible for supervising daily production activities in manual soldering, product assembly, testing, and packaging operations. Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance are achieved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Control

• Plan and monitor daily production for assembly, soldering, testing, and packaging.
• Achieve shift-wise production targets as per dispatch schedule.
• Allocate manpower effectively to meet priorities.
• Minimize downtime and bottlenecks.

2. Soldering & Assembly Supervision (Manual / Through-Hole / Rework Only)

• Supervise manual soldering and rework operations.
• Ensure solder quality (no dry joints, bridges, cold joints).
• Maintain ESD and IPC quality practices.
• Ensure correct BOM and work instructions are followed.

3. Testing & Quality Control

• Oversee functional testing and final inspection.
• Control rejection, rework, and defect rates.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with QA for in-process and final quality checks.

4. Packaging & Dispatch

• Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and packaging.
• Prevent transit damage through correct packing standards.
• Coordinate with Stores and Dispatch for timely shipment.

5. Manpower & Shopfloor Management

• Supervise operators and line leaders.
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift reporting.
• Provide on-the-job training for assembly and soldering.
• Conduct daily safety and quality briefings.

6. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

• Ensure proper functioning of soldering stations, testing setups, and assembly tools.
• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Improve productivity and reduce downtime.

7. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain daily production and rejection reports.
• Track KPIs: Output, Rejection %, Productivity, Efficiency.
• Implement 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of manual soldering and electronics assembly.
• Understanding of IPC standards and ESD handling.
• Ability to manage shopfloor manpower.
• Basic reporting and production documentation skills.
• Problem-solving and quality control mindset.
