Job Description
ob Purpose
The Production Planning and Control Manager is responsible for creating, setting up, standardizing, and
implementing the PPC processes across the manufacturing unit. The role integrates sales
demand, raw material and packaging availability, production capacity, shop-floor execution, and dispatch planning
to ensure timely order fulfillment (OTIF), optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. PPC Process Design & Implementation
- Design and implement Production planning and execution workflow.
- Standardize planning templates, reports, and review routines.
2. Demand Consolidation & Planning
- Consolidate daily, weekly, and monthly demand from Sales & Strategy.
- Convert demand into realistic production plans considering available resources.
- Advanced planning of RM, PM and Production during high demand events.
- Manage capacity constraints and re-plan in case of breakdowns or urgent orders.
3. Raw Material & Packaging Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores to ensure timely availability of Raw material.
- Coordinate with Packaging stores to ensure availability of PM for all SKUs.
- Inventory management to prevent shortages, excess stock (cost optimization), or expiries.
4. Shop-Floor Execution & Coordination
- Monitor daily production performance vs plan.
- Resolve shop-floor issues impacting production flow or delivery timelines.
- Bridge between Production and Dispatch for logistics management and optimization.
5. Reporting & Control
- Track plan adherence, wastage, yield, and variances.
- Analyze deviations and initiate corrective actions.
6. Governance framework - Monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) with Management and stakeholders.
7. Support digitalization and system improvements in Production planning and Control processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interface between sales demand and shop-floor execution.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Good understanding of bakery processes and shelf-life-driven production.
- ERP and Excel proficiency for planning and reporting. Knowledge of Power BI will be added advantage.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work under dynamic demand and tight timelines.
- Experience in bakery, confectionery, dairy, or FMCG food manufacturing.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Food Technology / Operations.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in PPC / Production Planning in bakery, food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Experience in System development and implementation.
