Production Merchandiser – Ethnic Wear, Bridal Couture, Handwork & Costing

Tajore by Nohm Apparels LLP is a fast-growing premium ethnic wear & bridal couture brand , known for refined aesthetics, detailed handwork, and quality-driven production.

We work closely with karigars, job workers, embroidery units, and fabric suppliers to create high-value ethnic & bridal garments.

We are hiring a Production Merchandiser who understands design intent, handwork execution, and costing not just follow-ups.

Role Summary

The Production Merchandiser will act as the bridge between design, sampling, and production , ensuring that every garment produced matches the design vision, handwork quality, timelines, and cost targets .

This role requires a strong eye for design , understanding of hand embroidery , and practical costing knowledge .

Key Responsibilities

Design & Sampling Coordination

• Interpret design briefs, sketches, and references
• Coordinate with designers, masters & sampling units
• Ensure correct fabric, color, embroidery & silhouette execution
• Suggest design or handwork optimizations when required

Handwork & Embroidery Management

• Strong understanding of hand embroidery techniques:
• Zardozi, Aari, Resham, Sequins, Cutdana, Beads, Thread work, etc.
• Supervise handwork quality, placement & finishing
• Coordinate with embroidery/job work units & karigars
• Maintain handwork swatches, approvals & references

Costing & Consumption

• Prepare handwork costing (per motif / per panel / per garment)
• Calculate fabric, embroidery & labor consumption
• Control cost deviations during production
• Coordinate with accounts & management for approvals

Production Follow-Ups

• Track sampling bulk production timelines
• Daily follow-ups with vendors & job workers
• Ensure on-time delivery without quality compromise
• Flag delays, quality risks & cost overruns early

Quality Control & Final Output

• In-line and final quality checks
• Ensure garments match approved samples
• Identify and correct defects, mismatches & finishing issues
• Support bridal & high-value order executions

• 37 years experience as Production / Garment Merchandiser
• Experience in ethnic wear, bridal, couture or occasion wear
• Strong design sensibility & garment understanding
• Hands-on experience in handwork costing
• Ability to read design sketches & references
• Illustration skills (manual or digital) BIG PLUS
• Comfortable working with multiple vendors & tight timelines
