Job Description

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the production function ensuring the efficient manufacturing of

equipment and systems related to solids handling and automation technologies, while

maintaining quality, cost, and delivery targets.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on order

pipeline and project deadlines.

Ensure optimum resource utilization (man, machine, material).

Monitor production KPIs and take corrective actions in case of deviations.

Coordinate with Design, Purchase, and Project teams for seamless execution.

2. Shop Floor Management

Oversee fabrication, assembly, and testing of equipment such as screw conveyors, bin

activators, feeders, valves, automation panels, etc.

Ensure production schedules are met with quality and safety compliance.

Identify and resolve bottlenecks, implement lean manufacturing practices.

Ensure machine and tool maintenance schedules are followed.

3. Quality & Compliance

Work closely with Quality team to ensure adherence to engineering drawings,

specifications, and inspection standards.

Drive 5S, Kaizen, and continual improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with ISO/ASME/CE or customer-specific standards.


Support internal and customer audits, and implement corrective actions.

4. Team Leadership

Lead and motivate production staff, supervisors, and skilled workers.

Ensure training and skill development of shop floor teams.

Plan shift schedules and manage manpower effectively.

Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability.

5. Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with SCM, Design, and Project teams to align production with overall project

timelines.

Generate daily/weekly/monthly production reports and present to senior management.

Analyze variances in production and cost, and initiate corrective measures.


Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of mechanical fabrication, welding, machining and assembly

processes.

Hands-on knowledge of solids handling equipment (mixers, feeders, conveyors, etc.).

Familiarity with automation systems including control panels, PLCs, and

pneumatic/hydraulic components.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E./Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.

Experience: 8+ years in production management in a solids handling, automation, or

process equipment manufacturing environment.


Working Conditions:

Full-time, on-site role in a fabrication/assembly environment.

May require hands-on supervision on the shop floor.

Coordination with multiple departments and occasional customer interactions.
