Job Title: Product & Structured Lifecycle Team - Central - Associate
Location: Mumbai, India
Role Description
- The purpose of the Operational Risk function (ORM) is to ensure that the Bank’s Operational Risk exposure is adequately managed in-line with the group wide risk appetite and ORM framework.
- The Product and Structured Transaction Lifecycle (PSTL) Team is a 2LoD function in ORM is responsible for the managing the New Product Approval (NPA), New Transaction Approval (NTA) and Product Lifecycle workflows to ensure appropriate due diligence takes place prior to the implementation of any new product, business initiative or non-vanilla transaction, that all products are regularly reviewed along their Lifecycle and that potential risks are appropriately assessed and managed.

Your Key Responsibilities:
As a pivotal member of the PSTL Team, this role will proactively drive and champion initiatives aimed at optimizing process and control design, ensuring seamless day-to-day operational integrity. This critically extends to providing expert support during all audit and regulatory engagements.
- Engage with business and infrastructure stakeholders on application workflow, including managing user access, information, and reference data updates.
- Provide expert guidance and resolution to stakeholder inquiries and issues pertaining to tooling and system functionalities.
- Leverage deep subject matter expertise to collaborate closely with Technology partners and Project Teams, translating business needs into robust IT requirements for strategic solutions and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Independently ensure the timely and effective execution of controls, maintaining comprehensive documentation readily auditable by internal and external parties.
- Develop and deliver insightful periodic and ad-hoc reports, management information, and Risk Appetite Metrics essential for robust framework governance, including the efficient management and interpretative commentary of large data sets.
- Drive the efficient resolution of Audit and Regulatory queries and actions across various Product Perimeter processes.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with global and regional teams to continuously enhance and optimize processes and controls.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including user manuals, desktop procedures, and key operating procedures.
- Champion and implement critical process improvements and system enhancements.
- Demonstrate flexibility with working hours to align with UK shift requirements.
Your skills and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services, with a strong risk control mindset.
- Experience in performing a control function position at a financial institution with a strong understanding of framework design, implementation and maintenance
- Experience working with Senior Stakeholders within a high-pressure dynamic environment
- Ability to proactively work across a diverse group of stakeholders within a complex organisation and to quickly develop strong working relationships with a broad range of functions
- Strong oral and written skills – should be able to distil topics into understandable summaries with clear conclusions and explanations of rationale
- Time management – the successful candidate will often need to deal with multiple priorities and should therefore be highly organised and be able to multi-task
- Adaptable – candidates will play a supporting role in a period of significant change for this function and therefore past experience with change projects is desirable
- Assertive – must be proactive in forming relationships with key stakeholders in the business but be comfortable challenging senior business contacts
- Develop strong working relationships with the rest of NFRM
- Team player – willing to help out other team members where required and be a constructive conscientious corporate citizen
- Proficient in Advanced Excel, PowerApps, Power Automate.
