Job Description
Job Purpose:
The IP-MPLS Lead will own and drive the TCTS product management, solution development, and lifecycle management of telco-grade IP network services, including IP/MPLS, SD-WAN, and network transformation services. The role focuses on enabling scalable network service offerings, while working closely with presales, delivery, automation, and operations teams to ensure successful deployment and operational excellence. This role ensures innovation, automation, and integration of next-generation technologies to deliver high-quality services to global telecom operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design IP/MPLS, SDWAN based network solutions for TCTS products and managed services.
- Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance IP/MPLS architectures for core, aggregation, and edge networks.
- Define reference architectures for L2VPN, L3VPN, Traffic Engineering, Segment Routing, and IPv6.
- Define legacy-to-next-gen migration strategies (MPLS to SR-MPLS/SRv6, IPv4 to IPv6, traditional WAN to SD-WAN)
- Participate with pre-sales as product owner for customer RFPs, RFIs
- Collaborate with OEMs and system integrators for product roadmap, strategy and enhancements
- Provide expert support during critical delivery phases, migrations, and large-scale rollouts.
- Conduct PoCs and interoperability testing with OEM platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei).
- Define the automation and SDN strategy for IP network service provisioning, changes, and assurance
- Work with automation teams to develop scripts and APIs for zero-touch provisioning and service assurance.
- Act as SME for IP/MPLS technologies across TCTS projects and mentor engineering teams.
- Participate in customer workshops and support pre-sales teams with solution presentations and RFP responses.
- Conduct delivery enablement programs covering IP/MPLS transformation, SD-WAN adoption, and SDN enablement technologies
- Implement security best practices for MPLS networks, including control-plane protection and DDoS mitigation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 12+ years in IP/MPLS network design, solutioning and operations, preferably in telecom product development or managed services.
- Experience working with OSS/BSS integration, orchestration platforms, or managed services environments.
- Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS protocols: RSVP-TE, LDP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Segment Routing.
- Knowledge of IPv6 architecture, deployment, and transition strategies.
- Experience with MPLS services (MPLS VPN, SR-MPLS).
- Familiarity with SDN/NFV concepts and integration with MPLS networks.
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN architectures, deployment models, and telco use cases
- Hands-on experience with major OEM platforms (Cisco IOS-XR, Juniper MX, Nokia SR, Huawei).
- Knowledge of network automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting, NETCONF/YANG).
- Exposure to service orchestration platforms and APIs.
- Certifications preferred: CCNP/CCIE Service Provider, JNCIP/JNCIE, Nokia NRS II, SD-WAN (OEM preferred) or equivalent OEM
