Job Profile: Technical Product Owner – SW Device Platform

Location: Bangalore
Reports To: Head of SW Device Platform – SPL
Job Family: Product & Solution Generation

Role Summary:

The Technical Product Owner (TPO) plays a critical role in bridging Product Management and R&D teams by translating platform and product-level requirements into a clear and actionable development backlog. The TPO leads technical alignment and drives the delivery of high-quality software components within the embedded software platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and prioritize the software development backlog in alignment with platform PMs.
  • Translate high-level feature requests into Epics and User Stories for implementation.
  • Facilitate PI Planning and sprint planning in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure timely readiness of software release candidates and testing deliverables.
  • Drive creation and maintenance of technical documentation (SWRS, cSWR, SWAD).
  • Integrate compliance and regulatory requirements into backlog planning.
  • Report progress and escalate impediments through structured governance channels.
  • Act as a lateral leader by guiding and supporting teams in best practices and agile methods.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in technically leading software teams.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development and modern engineering practices (e.g., MBSE, Systems Engineering).
  • Proven experience with agile and scaled agile frameworks (SAFe or similar).
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and facilitation skills.

Scope & Impact:

  • Functional leadership across 30+ developers, architects, testers, and QM engineers.
  • Contributes to the strategic value and delivery efficiency of the SW platform.
