Job Description

Objective:

To build, manage, and execute a comprehensive pan-India Counsellor Engagement Strategy for intraocular lens (IOL) products, enabling sustainable sales growth through informed patient counselling. This position will focus exclusively on creating, implementing, and monitoring tools, training, and programs that enhance the effectiveness of counsellors in converting patients to premium IOLs.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Counsellor Database Development

  • Identify and collect a pan-India database of counsellors working in eye hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers through coordination with the sales team.
  • Segment and classify the database by geography, institution type, and potential.
  • Maintain and regularly update the counsellor database for campaign and program planning.

2. Counsellor Engagement Planning

  • Develop an annual counsellor engagement calendar aligned with national and regional sales objectives.
  • Strategically plan both short-format and long-format training initiatives.
  • Identify priority territories and support the zonal/regional teams in customizing plans based on counsellor readiness and market needs.

3. Counsellor Training Programs

  • Design and roll out two-tiered training programs :
  • Basic Knowledge Training: 1-2 hour in-hospital sessions covering cataract surgery, IOL types, advantages, and patient education.
  • Advanced Soft Skills Workshops: Full-day training covering patient handling, communication skills, value presentation, and teamwork.
  • Coordinate with doctors to obtain permissions for in-hospital programs.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of training programs across zones through internal trainers or identified external experts.

4. Counselling Tools Development

  • Design and manage creation/distribution of effective counselling aids such as:
  • Flip charts, eye models, IOL demo kits
  • Product literature, brochures, reference guides
  • Short videos, presentation templates, certified online learning modules
  • Collaborate with creative agencies or internal teams for design and production.

5. Trainer Network & Coordination

  • Identify, empanel, and coordinate with a pool of soft-skill trainers, optometrists, and product experts for the delivery of the programs.
  • Maintain feedback and performance data of trainers to ensure quality consistency.

6. Digital Engagement Initiatives

  • Plan and execute digital outreach to counsellors through:
  • Monthly newsletters
  • WhatsApp groups/Telegram groups (region-wise)
  • Microlearning modules/videos
  • Online training sessions and webinars

7. Field Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the field force to implement and monitor engagement plans .
  • Provide necessary tools, training kits, and content for field teams to execute local programs.
  • Conduct review meetings with field teams to track progress.

8. Performance Metrics and Reporting

  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to track training reach, tool utilization, counsellor conversions, and impact on IOL category sales.

Submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Product Manager.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Pharma, Optometry, or Allied Health; MBA in Marketing/Healthcare is a plus.
  • 13 years of experience in marketing support, training coordination, or healthcare engagement roles (Fresher with strong communication skills can also be considered).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Passion for training and field implementation.
