Product Designer – Visual Systems

Role Description

Were looking for a product designer with exceptional visual design skills to help define and deliver the core user experience of our AI tutor. Youll collaborate closely with our founders, engineers, and content teams to shape how students learn, engage, and grow through Fermis product.

This is not a marketing or brand design role though youll help define our visual identity, your main focus will be in-product design , from interface to interaction to system coherence.

What You'll Do

• Design intuitive and visually compelling interfaces across web and mobile platforms.
• Develop scalable design systems that support fast iteration and a cohesive learner experience.
• Collaborate with engineers to prototype interactions using tools like Lovable and Cursor .
• Craft visually expressive components that enhance motivation, clarity, and learning outcomes.
• Work on features that span across student, teacher, and parent experiences.
• Translate complex educational concepts into approachable visual frameworks.
• Contribute to the overall product vision with a deep understanding of our users: students.
• Shape Fermis emerging visual language and brand presence as we grow.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in product design, ideally with experience in consumer or edtech apps.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both UI/UX problem-solving and high-quality visual craft .
• Experience designing design systems and managing visual consistency at scale.
• Confidence working in early-stage environments: fast-paced, ambiguous, hands-on.
• Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with design-to-code collaboration tools (e.g. Cursor).
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain design decisions to cross-functional teams.
• Bonus: experience designing for students, educational products, or AI-first interfaces.
