Job Title: Product Design Instructor

School of Design and Digital Transmedia (SDDT- Kudlu Gate Campus)

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Product Design Instructor to teach and mentor students in product design, prototyping, model making, and basic electrical & electronics integration. The ideal candidate will guide students in developing functional models as part of their academic learning, combining design thinking with hands-on technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Product Design, Industrial Design, and related subjects
• Train students in prototyping techniques and model making
• Guide students in building functional working models for academic projects
• Provide instruction in basic Electrical & Electronics relevant to product development
• Demonstrate use of tools, materials, and workshop equipment safely
• Mentor students through the design process concept development, sketching, prototyping, testing, and iteration
• Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback
• Support interdisciplinary learning and innovation
• Maintain lab/workshop resources and ensure safety standards

Educational Qualifications

Bachelors degree in any of the following:

• Product Design
• Industrial Design
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) preferably with specialization in Product/Industrial Design

(Masters degree or teaching experience is a plus.)

Preferred Experience

• Prior teaching/training experience in design or engineering institutions
• Industry experience in product development or prototyping
• Experience working with student projects or innovation labs
