About the role
Carrier Corporation is looking to create a global procurement operations team that will act as the hub for procurement services including payment help desk, PR to PO conversion for indirects spend, running tendering for directs and indirects spend
The role of the Procurement Operations lead is to build strategy and ensure effective and efficient operations of this Procurement Operations team ensuring all requests are addressed in a timely and professional manner with a proper tracking mechanism.
Lead will be the escalation point for all request and are responsible for implementing strategies to improve end user satisfaction
The scope of the role is global
Lead will be responsible to build organizational capability and capacity to complement the growth and high performance expectations, develop and enhance continuous improvement culture and drive the organization towards CoE. Own Attracting, Hiring, Engaging, Developing and Retention of diverse talent.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Global Procurement Operations team aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Develop the strategy, operating model, KPI’s, build out plan from scratch
Talent management: Lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure the team's growth and engagement. Proven record of managing team’s sizes of 40-60+ resources
Operational Excellence and continuous improvement: Implement best practices and operational frameworks to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all functions within the Procurement Operations. Drive initiatives to streamline processes including RFQs, supplier payments, and PR to PO conversions., automate workflows, and enhance service delivery through innovation and technology
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with senior leadership, business unit heads, and global counterparts to understand business needs and deliver effective solutions.
Performance management: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and drive accountability within the team
Core (functional) skills: Incumbent will be required to build following sub-teams as part of Procurement Operations and should have experience and expertise building and running these teams
1. Supply chain helpdesk- The Supply chain helpdesk team will work with accounts Payable teams to ensure supplier payments are done in a reliable and accurate way. Supply chain helpdesk will be responsible to manage critical supplier relations with regards to supplier payments, and study the process value chain to improve supplier payment on time
2. Direct spend Request for Quotation (RFQ) team: Incumbent will build a team to people to run 100-200 RFQ’s direct spend every year and their role with be run this in most efficient way and improve cost-to-serve for company. They will host the best practice RFQ templates for each category, preferred supplier list, and define a standard process across company to run RFQ’s
3. Indirect spend Request for Quotation (RFQ) team: Incumbent will build a team to people to run 800-1,000 indirect spend RFQ’s every year after aligning the requirements with stakeholders, negotiation with suppliers for specific cases and their role with be run this in most efficient way and drive cost savings. They will host the best practice RFQ templates for each category, preferred supplier list, and define a standard process across company to run RFQ’s
4. Indirect PR-PO team: Incumbent will build a team to manage thousands of Purchase requisitions, ensure necessary documentation for each requisition and ensure conversion of requisitions to Purchase orders. Indirects team managers thousands of purchase requisitions from users across 50+ entities. Team will also be responsible for onboarding Vendors in Ariba on time and ensure data accuracy
Requirements:
B.E from a premier institute is a MUST, MBA from a good institute preferred
20+ years of supply chain management experience (preferably in manufacturing domain). Exposure to CoE environment essential
Deep knowledge for supply chain processes, e.g. RFQ’s, Supplier payments, PR to PO process
Managing large teams of 40-60+ people
Process orientation Knowledge of tools like Coupa, Ariba, SAP
Strong Communication and negotiation skills with international stakeholders/ customers/ suppliers
