Position Overview - GridCrest Technologies is looking for an experienced Buyer cum Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end procurement operations at its Hyderabad manufacturing plant. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for procurement strategy, supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support high-growth manufacturing operations in the electronics, EMS, and smart metering domain. The role requires strong experience in electronic components, plastics, and metal parts, with direct accountability for plant-level procurement performance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing (1) Own the overall procurement responsibility for the Hyderabad plant, including direct and indirect materials. (2) Define and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components, PCBA-related materials, plastics, and metal parts. (3) Ensure timely and cost-effective availability of materials aligned with production plans and growth requirements. (4) Drive continuous cost reduction and localization initiatives through alternate sourcing, value engineering, and strategic negotiations.

Supplier & Vendor Management (1) Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers in line with quality, delivery, cost, and compliance standards. (2) Build and manage long-term strategic partnerships with critical suppliers. (3) Monitor and improve supplier performance through regular reviews and corrective actions. (4) Lead commercial negotiations, contract management, and price finalization.

Operations & Cross-Functional Coordination (1) Work closely with production, planning, quality, engineering, and NPI teams to support smooth plant operations. (2) Manage inventory levels, lead times, risk mitigation, and obsolescence for critical materials. (3) Support new product introductions and scale-up programs for smart metering solutions. (4) Ensure adherence to company policies, Kaynes Group governance standards, and statutory requirements. (5) Maintain robust procurement documentation, audit readiness, and MIS reporting. (6) Support ethical sourcing, sustainability, and ESG-related initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related discipline.
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred with 815 years of procurement experience in: Electronics manufacturing, Smart Metering, EMS
• Proven hands-on experience with electronics components, plastics, and metal parts procurement. Mandatory experience in a plant-based manufacturing environment. Strong exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred).
