Job Description
Role Purpose
Leadprocurement and contract strategiesfor EPC/EPCM packages, long-leadequipmentand site services to support AM/NS India expansion projects and operational requirements. The role focuses on deliveringcompetitive sourcing outcomes, strong suppliergovernanceand contract performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implementcategory sourcing and contracting strategiesfor upstream and downstream steelmaking projects aligned with project milestones,budgetsand technical requirements.
- Plan and managetender processes including RFI/RFQ/RFP, conductTotal Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations, lead negotiations andfinalizesupplierselection.
- Prepare award recommendations andnegotiate commercial and contractual termswith suppliers and EPC partners.
- Overseecontract execution and supplier performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, change orders, claims,amendmentsand contract close-out activities.
- Ensure contracts integratelegal, ethical, HSE and compliance requirements, working closely with HSE teams for contractor pre-qualification and safety compliance.
- Leadvalue analysis / value engineering (VA/VE)and cost optimization initiatives across procurement categories.
- Monitormarket trends, suppliercapabilitiesandlogisticsdynamicsrelevant to steel plant projects andmaintaincategory risk registers.
- Develop supplier relationships and conductsupplier performance reviews with site and project teams.
- Guide and mentorbuyers and contract engineers, ensuring procurement governance,documentationand audit readiness.
Mandatory Experience
- 812 years of experience in Procurement and Contracts management within large industrial or EPC project environments.
- Proven experience managing procurement for heavy industrial equipment and EPC/EPCM project packages.
- Strong experience in contract negotiations, supplier evaluation and claim management.
- Hands-on experience with procurement of industrial equipment such as furnaces, cranes, drives, casting systems,vesselsor similar heavy plant machinery.
- Experience managing suppliers and contractors across engineering,constructionand manufacturing project phases.

- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification is an advantage
- Experience implementingsupplier performance dashboards or digital procurement analytics systems
