Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer (MEP) to manage end-to-end procurement activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) packages in EPC civil building projects. The role is based at our Chennai corporate office and requires strong coordination with project, design, and finance teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Handle procurement of MEP materials and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, and allied services.
• Prepare and float RFQs/RFIs , evaluate techno-commercial offers, and finalize vendors/subcontractors.
• Coordinate with design, planning, and project teams to understand BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual conditions with vendors.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery as per project schedules.
• Monitor material consumption, stock levels, and site requirements to avoid delays or excess inventory.
• Ensure compliance with approved makes, technical specifications, and quality standards .
• Coordinate with vendors for inspections, testing, and documentation as required.
• Work closely with finance for billing, payment processing, and cost control .
• Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and vendor performance evaluations.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 510 years of relevant experience in MEP procurement within EPC civil building construction.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, specifications, and market vendors .
• Experience in rate analysis, cost comparison, and contract finalization .
• Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems , and procurement documentation.
• Ability to work from a corporate office environment while supporting multiple projects.
• Tamil language proficiency preferred .
