Job Summary:


The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and procuring civil construction materials, equipment, and services for ongoing and upcoming projects. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery to support project execution.


Key Responsibilities


Material Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable suppliers/vendors for civil works and materials.
  • Float enquiries, obtain quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
  • Ensure procurement is aligned with technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, credit, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and service.

Contracts & Documentation

  • Draft and review purchase orders, work orders, and contracts in coordination with the contracts team.
  • Maintain procurement records, approvals, and documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory requirements

Cost & Budget Control

  • Monitor and control procurement costs within allocated budgets.
  • Provide cost analysis, market trends, and price benchmarking.
  • Support the project team in preparing BOQ and procurement schedules.

Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with the project execution, planning, billing, and QS teams to understand material requirements.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery and stock management.
  • Assist in resolving material-related site issues.


Requirement

  • BTech / MTech / Dip - Civil Engineering
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in procurement/supply chain within the civil construction sector (infrastructure, real estate, or contracting companies)
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement software.
  • Analytical mindset with strong cost-control and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
