Job Description – Annuity Issue Specialist

Job title: Annuity Issue Specialist

Skills Required • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
o Attention to Detail
Ability to review complex applications and identify errors or missing information
Ensure accurate entry of client details into the system to avoid processing delays.
o Critical Thinking
Evaluate and resolve discrepancies in application documents efficiently.
Propose process improvements based on observed inefficiencies.
o Risk Assessment
Identify and mitigate risks associated with compliance, documentation errors or misrepresentation of policy details. 
• Domain Skills
o Knowledge of Annuity Products [Preferred]
Understanding of fixed, variable, and indexed annuity products
Awareness of features like riders, payouts, and tax implications
o Knowledge of related products, including life insurance policies, retirement plans, or investment-linked products. 
• Financial Acumen
o Ability to understand financial statements, annuity payout calculations, and cost basis. 
o Awareness of interest rate trend and their impact on annuity products
• Taxation Knowledge
o In-depth understanding of tax implications for annuities, including qualified and non-qualified plans. 
• Regulatory Compliance
o Familiarity with laws and guidelines such as NAIC regulations, IRS annuity taxation rules, state-specific insurance requirements
o Ability to interpret and apply compliance standards to documentation and processes
Preferred Experience • Strong knowledge of annuity products
• 2+ years of experience of annuity processing
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication skills
