Deloitte Hyderabad is Hiring Principal UI/UX Designer (8+ Years Experience)

Role Overview

Deloitte is seeking a highly experienced Principal UI/UX Designer with strong expertise in designing intuitive, visually appealing, and usercentric interfaces for complex IoT platforms and connected-device applications.

This role blends design excellence with a strong understanding of modern front-end ecosystems, including TypeScript, NestJS fundamentals, and GraphQL-driven workflows, enabling seamless collaboration with engineering teams.

• Design and deliver engaging, responsive, and accessible user interfaces aligned with UX best practices and business goals.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to translate complex IoT workflows and device interactions into intuitive design experiences.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and design validation to ensure smooth and consistent user experiences across IoT dashboards and control interfaces.
• Create interactive prototypes, wireframes, design systems, and user flows using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and smooth integration of UI with TypeScript, GraphQL APIs, and backend architectures built using NestJS.
• Apply and evolve design systems, component libraries, and reusable UI patterns for scalability across multiple IoT products and platforms.
• Contribute to UI testing, accessibility evaluations, and quality assurance for design accuracy and end-user usability.
• Stay updated with emerging design trends and technologies relevant to IoT, GraphQL UX patterns, and modern UI frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of proven experience in UI/UX design, preferably in the IoT domain.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user-centred methodologies.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and practical familiarity with React and TypeScript to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Understanding of backend concepts such as NestJS architecture, modules, controllers, and how UI interacts with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Experience designing for GraphQL-based applications, including schema-aligned UI behaviour and efficient query-driven experiences.
• Expertise in responsive design, cross-device compatibility, and modern UI component frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and version control tools like Git.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to design governance, design ops, and scalable design processes.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience working with shared or enterprise-grade design systems (Material, Fluent, custom IoT libraries).
• Exposure to AI-driven design tools, predictive UX, or real-time dashboards.
• Understanding of API-first design, microservices interaction patterns, sensor-data visualisation, and IoT user behaviour patterns.
• Strong interest in emerging technologies and future-ready design approaches, especially in GraphQL and TypeScript ecosystems.
