Job Description
Principal SoC Architect
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Processing, interpreting and discussing high level digital IC requirements
- Make pro-active proposals on suited micro-architecture and hardware specifications to fulling digital IC requirements
- Evaluate the performance of IPs such as CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, memories, accelerators, custom IPs, and how these can be combined to meet customer requirements
- Help model, analyze , debug and address performance limitation; work out advanced solutions that fit within set chip area and power consumption budgets
- Make pro-active proposals on IC technology choices to achieve set performance requirements
- Work together with analog IC system architects and software team to bring a total mixed-system SOC solution
- Directly communicate with customers at a technical level to propose our solutions
- Support our sales team from a technical point of view by building excellent digital architectural solutions
- Support our delivery team by introducing new digital micro-architecture solutions to them; provide support to System Verilog implementation, RTL verification, design verification, physical design and design-for-test/validation
- Attend meetings and update others on ideas, options, issues or concerns, when there is a risk that could prevent meeting customer demands
- Support and promote a culture where a high quality of work is the norm
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluent (written and spoken) in English. Language ability is critical when interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Expert digital system architect for advanced SOCs, at least 12+ years of experience
- Verilog and System Verilog development experience
- Experience with CPU and DSP micro-architectures
- Good understanding of mixed-signal aspects of system architecture work for advanced SOCs
- Proficient in using and understanding the key EDA tools for IC development
- Broad knowledge of IC technologies, IC manufacturing, IC assembly and IC test is required
- Familiarity with automotive safety (ASIL) standards
- Ability to multitask and proactively identify and solve issues
- Very good technical communication & negotiation skills
- Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and customers based on a strong technical background
- Experience in making decisions required to deliver expected services with quality and on time
- Excellent communication, teamwork, solution orientation, and collaboration skills
Education Level (Degree, Area of Study) Minimum Requirement:
- 8 years degree in IC development
- 12+ years of experience in digital IC design and digital IC system architectural work
