Principal Digital Architect – Adobe Experience Platform
Role Definition
The Principal Digital Architect – Adobe Experience Platform is responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise‑scale digital marketing and customer experience architectures built on Adobe Experience Cloud. This role provides hands‑on architectural leadership to translate business and marketing objectives into scalable, secure, and future‑ready digital solutions, aligned with Cat Digital and enterprise architecture standards.
The role serves as a technical authority and trusted advisor across Marketing, IT, Data, Security, and Engineering teams, ensuring successful adoption, integration, and value realization of Adobe’s enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy & Target Design
- Assess current‑state marketing and digital ecosystems and define future‑state architectures aligned with business objectives and customer experience strategies.
- Develop solution architectures, reference designs, and digital engagement roadmaps leveraging Adobe Experience Cloud.
- Ensure architectural decisions align with enterprise standards, scalability, security, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Contribute to platform‑level architecture direction through trade‑off analysis and architectural decision records (ADRs).
Adobe Experience Cloud Architecture Leadership
- Lead architecture and solution design across Adobe Experience Cloud, including:
- Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
- Real‑Time Customer Data Platform (RT‑CDP)
- Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Campaign, and Marketo Engage
- Adobe Analytics and Customer Journey Analytics
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Adobe Target and personalization solutions
- Adobe Workfront
- Adobe Firefly
- AEM Guides
- Ensure solutions follow Adobe‑recommended implementation patterns, best practices, and extensibility models.
- Guide delivery teams on platform capabilities, constraints, and integration patterns to reduce rework and technical risk.
Data, Identity & Integration Architecture
- Design enterprise data models, schemas, identity frameworks, and governance approaches aligned with customer data and privacy standards.
- Architect batch and real‑time data ingestion, activation, and synchronization patterns across Adobe and enterprise platforms.
- Define and review integration architectures using REST APIs, event‑driven patterns, cloud storage, structured and unstructured data sources, and security controls.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance considerations are built into architectural designs.
Architecture Governance & Delivery Enablement
- Provide architectural leadership to cross‑functional and multi‑region delivery teams, ensuring alignment to target architecture.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, guardrails, and governance models for Adobe platform implementations.
- Review solution designs for scalability, performance, data quality, security, and compliance.
- Identify architecture and delivery risks and recommend remediation strategies to maintain scope, schedule, and quality.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Partner with Marketing, IT, Data, Security, and Engineering stakeholders to align technology solutions with business and customer experience outcomes.
- Translate complex technical architectures into clear, value‑focused narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Support executive decision‑making through concise architecture artifacts and trade‑off analyses.

- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end marketing technology ecosystems (CDP, marketing automation, journey orchestration, personalization, analytics, content management)
- REST APIs, cloud architectures, and integration patterns
- Data security, identity, and privacy‑by‑design principles
- Experience supporting large‑scale, global implementations
Domain Expertise (Preferred)
- Enterprise digital marketing and customer experience platforms
- Customer data platforms and identity resolution
- Personalization and analytics ecosystems
- Content management and experience delivery platforms
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 14–16 years of experience in digital architecture, enterprise platforms, or large‑scale solution design.
- Demonstrated experience architecting or implementing enterprise‑scale digital marketing ecosystems.
- Experience working with global or multi‑region delivery teams.
