Job Description

The Principal serves as the academic and administrative leader of the school and is responsible for delivering excellence in education while upholding the values, vision, and standards of the Delhi Public School. The role ensures high-quality teaching for Grade 9th to 12th, effective school operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder relationships.


Key Responsibilities


Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction for curriculum planning and execution.
  • Monitor teaching standards, learning outcomes, and board performance.
  • Promote innovation, digital learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to CBSE and statutory academic requirements.

Institutional Administration

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the school.
  • Implement policies related to discipline, safety, and child protection.
  • Oversee admissions, timetables, examinations, and documentation.
  • Ensure infrastructure and facilities meet prescribed standards.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Build a high-performance culture with accountability.
  • Drive professional development and training initiatives.

Student Development & Wellbeing

  • Foster holistic growth through academics, arts, sports, and life skills.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Address student discipline and grievance matters.

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Maintain transparent communication with parents.
  • Lead PTMs, orientations, and school events.
  • Represent the school before authorities and in public forums.

Financial & Strategic Planning

  • Partner with management on budgeting and resource utilization.
  • Contribute to long-term growth, branding, and reputation building.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • B.Ed./M.Ed. mandatory as per norms.

Experience

  • 15 to 20+ years of progressive experience in teaching and school administration.
  • Prior experience as Vice Principal & Head of School preferred.
  • Experience in reputed CBSE institutions is highly desirable.
