Principal Civil Engineer

Title: Principal Engineer (water and wastewater infrastructure)

Location: Bangalore / Mumbai / Pune / Noida / Gurgaon

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Civil Engineer with strong expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure to provide technical leadership across complex engineering projects.

This role focuses on leading design delivery from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Design Engineer, guiding projects from concept to construction
• Define and validate technical requirements aligned with project needs
• Lead technical workstreams within multidisciplinary teams
• Provide civil engineering input into:
• Asset surveys and plant condition assessments
• Feasibility studies and optioneering
• Whole-life costing and preliminary designs
• Support design of pumping stations, pipelines, rising mains, and hydraulic systems
• Provide technical sign-off and assurance during delivery and handover
• Ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory standards
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Requirements:

• Should have experience in water infrastructure engineering:
• Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)
• Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
• Clean water distribution systems
• Pumping stations and rising mains
• Storm overflow / Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) systems
• Drainage and sewer network integration
• Strong understanding of plant hydraulics
• Exposure to hydraulic modelling tools (HADES or similar preferred)
• ICE / CIWEM membership is an advantage
