Job Description

Hiring for Principal Associate in Indirect Tax Litigation for Chandigarh location


The incumbent will handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws, Appeals, Representation before various forums, investigation handholding, Litigation Management Service, Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory and consulting pertaining to GST, Customs, Service Tax, VAT, and Excise.


Key Accountabilities:


Partnering and Building Relationships, Lead role in client service delivery. Acts as a Trusted Business Advisor:

  • Participates in advising clients on strategic issues and understanding clients needs
  • Plays a strong role in involving multi-disciplinary teams across the BU in providing services to important accounts


Sound commercial acumen:

  • Provides a perspective on global trends, emerging industry issues and emerging practices on client assignments. Is able to proactively alert clients on business environment changes that impact (or would impact) the client


Marketing & Business Development:

  • Creates and manages strong independent relationships with clients at senior positions with minimal partner involvement, expands client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) for the business unit.
  • Has strong internal and external networks. These are leveraged for building and growing the firms business


Leads and coordinates the planning and management of medium/large assignments, independently:

  • Pricing, Billing & Recovery
  • Maximize fee opportunities

  • Proactively takes a leadership role where appropriate
  • Creates a climate of high performance in the team
  • Works effectively in cross service-line engagements
  • Is a role model, mentor and coach
  • Is approached by members of service line to assist in resolving people issues
  • Is an ambassador of the firm and projects the firms values in conduct
  • Contributes to talent acquisition by tapping external networks to identify / refer high quality candidates for the business unit.

Experience and Education:


  • Law Graduate from a known Law School with a strong academic track record
  • 4-7 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect tax in the field of Indirect Tax Litigation or Advisory
