Designation / Role : Principal Associate
Location : Mumbai
Major role and responsibilities
- Thorough approach involving in-depth understanding of client needs and legal intricacies in handling assignments.
- Possesses strong analytical and research aptitude with the ability to understand and apply statutory provisions, notifications and judicial precedents.
- Good command over the English language, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Sound drafting skills, with experience in drafting legal documents, pleadings, opinions, and correspondence.
- Knowledge of case laws and the relevant legal framework and remains abreast of regulatory updates.
- Proactive in monitoring developments and trends in indirect tax laws and sharing insights with the team.
- Ability to do quick research to develop a theoretical understanding of the laws and acts.
- Capable of preparing research notes, client communications and legal updates under guidance.
- Demonstrates professionalism, accountability and effective time management in executing assignments
- Client handling
Required Skill Set
- Handling engagements relating to Indirect Tax Laws , including tax advisory and consulting, tax restructuring, and tax litigation under GST Law, Customs Law, Foreign Trade Policy, Service Tax, VAT, Excise , and other allied laws.
- Managing litigation-related assignments , including drafting legal opinions, replies to show cause notices, appeals, writ petitions, and special leave petitions (SLPs) , as well as briefing counsels and senior counsels at various stages of litigation.
Qualification - LLB or CA
Experience - 5+years
