Role Overview:

As a Principal Data Governance Architect, your work is a combination of hands-on contribution, customer engagement, techno-functional & functional support, and technical team management including assisting in getting new business, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful EDM programs. Overall, you'll design, architect, deploy, and bring in new business on data governance, metadata management, data quality, master data management, data privacy, risk and compliance, and security solutions, while heading and strengthening solutions under one of the pillars of EDM.

More specifically, this will involve:

• Carry out capability, process and data maturity assessments and help lay the foundation of data governance with robust roadmap, tool evaluations and fitment exercises
• Carry out design and architecture reviews for existing solutions
• Develop and implement comprehensive data governance framework and strategy that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements, set up enterprise DG office and operating model
• Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures that ensure data quality, accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the organization, help operationalize it and establish the right monitoring
• Develop and execute data governance metrics and KPIs to monitor and report on the effectiveness of data governance practices
• Technical solutions across the full life cycle of data (structured/semi-structured/unstructured)-based EDM projects with design, integrations with the existing data eco-system, end to end cloud-based, non-cloud and hybrid metadata management solutions including any custom configurations
• Detailed expertise and proven knowledge across one of the pillars of EDM to carry out activities to strengthen the pillar
• Support in RFI, RFPs, pro-active winnable solutions
• Automate using an AI-first approach. Be on the forefront of innovation with GenAI and Agentic AI enablement for EDM based engagements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business consultants, analysts, data scientists, senior data engineers) to establish data ownership and stewardship roles and responsibilities, and ensure compliance with data management regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA
• Exploring new technologies, emerging data governance trends, and practices to continuously improve data governance processes and outcomes for creative business problem-solving, coming out with innovative POVs, blogs/whitepapers and assisting in generating net new business.
• Lead a team of data governance professionals and provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure the success of the data governance program

What do we expect?

• 15-18 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies (around any of the EDM tools like Atlan/Alation/Purview/Colllibra/Manta/Anomalo/Ataccama). Knowledge of Python/GenAI / Agentic AI (a plus)
• Experience developing and implementing 4-5 data governance engagements designing, delivering, managing and mining the projects for the account
• Multi account or proven tech leadership in the EDM area to end customers
• Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 5 to 7+ years in any Data Governance, DQ, metadata management, Privacy tool Solutions/implementations, knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and CCPA, and their impact on data governance practices.

• Data Quality (IDMC CDQ/Anomalo/Ataccama/custom DQ APIs) Management
• Data Profiling

• Data Products, Data Marketplace
• EDM Design architecture review
• Automation on any of the above

Expertise And Qualification

• Hands-on experience with the following technologies:
• Awareness of working on a Azure/GCP/AWS environment(s), native services and solutions required to build data solutions. Databricks, Snowflake (a plus)
• Monte Carlo, Anomalo, Atlan, Collibra, Alation, IDQ, IDMC (CDQ & CDGC), Ataccama, Immuta, Unity catalog, Securiti.ai, BigID
• Designing/building large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions (in Azure/AWS/GCP) and integrations with their native data management services.
• Data Quality, Governance, metadata management (incl. catalog and lineage) design and implementation
• Full life cycle of a data governance solution
• Governance for AI
• Data Strategy Consulting and advisory experience (a plus)
• Installation and admin of any of the tools above (a Plus)
