This role leads to the presales design and scoping of structured cabling solutions for data center builds and expansions. It converts capacity and density requirements into detailed fiber and copper cabling architectures that support reliable, high-performance connectivity and future scalability, including AI and high-density deployments.

The role defines backbone and horizontal cabling, pathways, meet-me rooms, cross-connects, labeling, and cable management approaches in line with global standards. It prepares detailed BoQs, cost estimates, and design artefacts that can directly guide implementation teams, while validating designs with OEMs and product vendors.

Beyond technical correctness, the role ensures designs are deployment-friendly, airflow-aware, and easy to operate and maintain. During pursuits, it presents clear, scalable design options to customers and differentiates solutions through modular, high-density and future-ready cabling strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as presales design authority for structured cabling solutions across enterprise, hyperscaler, and AI data center environments.
• Develop detailed fiber and copper cabling designs including backbone, horizontal distribution, rack-level layouts, pathways, labeling, and zoning.
• Prepare BoQs/BoMs, design assumptions, and cost estimates for passive cabling, installation, testing, certification, and documentation.
• Define standards-compliant architectures (TIA-942/ISO) for MMRs, cross-connects, meet-me rooms, and carrier pathways.
• Design cable pathway systems (ladder racks, trays, conduits) optimized for high density, airflow, and future expansion.
• Validate material specifications and reference designs with OEMs and cabling vendors for constructability and performance.
• Coordinate with DC build, MEP, and construction teams to ensure routing feasibility and deployment readiness.
• Produce customer-facing drawings, schematics, and design narratives for RFP/RFI and proposal submissions.
• Define cable management, labeling, and documentation standards to enable easy operations and lifecycle management.
• Present scalable, modular, and AI-ready cabling strategies to customers as key differentiators in pursuits.
• Define standardized cabling reference architectures for enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale DC builds.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong knowledge of fiber/copper cabling technologies, MPO/MTP, Cat6A, OM4/OM5, connector types.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards (TIA 942, TIA 606 B) and DC architecture practices.
• Experience with cable pathway design (ladder racks, trays), high density patching, and airflow friendly layouts.
• Ability to create BoQs, schematics, and presales artefacts for DC Build engagements.
• Experience collaborating with vendors/OEMs (CommScope, Panduit) and implementation teams.
• Good presentation, documentation, and customer solutioning skills
• Experience working with OEMs, cabling manufacturers, and system integrators during solution design and validation
• Ability to convert technical cabling designs into customer-facing value narratives (scalability, lifecycle cost, speed of deployment).
