The Role
This role leads presales and solutioning for global engineering lab operations (LaaS). It defines scalable, automated, and cost-optimized lab environments for OEMs, covering provisioning, orchestration, lifecycle management, and remote operations.
The role blends technical lab understanding with strong presales storytelling to craft compelling RFP responses and commercial models. It drives modernization of fragmented labs into standardized, virtualized, and automated platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as presales solution authority for global Engineering Lab-as-a-Service (LaaS) offerings across OEM, enterprises.
- Design scalable lab-as-a-service operating models covering provisioning, configuration, testing, and decommissioning.
- Define automation and orchestration approaches for lab workflows using industry tools and platforms.
- Develop RFP/RFI responses including SOWs, SLAs, KPIs, delivery models, and transition plans.
- Create commercials for onshore/offshore lab operations including staffing, tooling, and infrastructure costs.
- Shape lab consolidation and virtualization strategies to improve utilization and reduce footprint and cost.
- Collaborate with OEM and internal engineering teams to validate tool chains and reference architectures.
- Define governance, access control, asset management, and change management frameworks for labs.
- Present solution proposals and modernization roadmaps to customers highlighting agility and cost benefits.
- Build reusable presales artefacts, templates, and reference designs for repeatable lab solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years experience in lab/testbed environment
- Cloud & Platform Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
- Strong understanding of engineering labs: testbeds, networking/ethernet/fiber setups, OS/firmware loading, RF/IoT testing, cloud integrated labs.
- Exposure to automation, orchestration platforms, microservices, lab workflow tools, and high frequency lab change environments.
- Strong presales writing, pricing, customer engagement, and OEM aligned storytelling.
- Experience in pre-sales or solutioning for engineering labs, R&D labs, validation labs, or AI innovation labs.
