Role Summary

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented senior Power BI Developer to join the Operational Excellence team. This is a hands-on, end-to-end development role that involves working closely with internal stakeholders, driving high-impact reporting initiatives, improving analytics infrastructure, and maintaining consistency across Power BI solutions. You will also help evolve best practices, lead process optimization efforts, and ensure high-quality delivery through robust QA and governance standards. This is a team-leading individual contributor role, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, process thinking, and technical depth.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development & Delivery

Lead end-to-end Power BI development: from data extraction (ETL), data modeling, and DAX measures to visualization and deployment. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable Power BI solutions. Conduct effort estimation, requirement documentation, and sprint planning for dashboard and enhancement requests.

Quality Assurance & Governance

Establish and execute thorough QA practices for Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy and performance.

Manage version control using Azure DevOps repositories, including peer reviews and release documentation.

Process Optimization & Operational Excellence

Drive initiatives aimed at improving report performance, user adoption, and development efficiency.

Standardize naming conventions, folder structures, and model design across reports to ensure long-term maintainability.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

Prioritize and monitor development tasks to meet agreed deadlines.

Mentor and train junior Power BI developers or analysts in development practices and internal tools.

Conduct ad-hoc and BAU (Business as Usual) analysis of operational metrics and KPIs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Power BI – including Power Query (M), data modeling, DAX, and report optimization. Strong command of Microsoft Excel for prototyping and data validation. Comfort with Microsoft PowerPoint to present analysis to leadership. Solid understanding of Power BI Service – workspace management, dataset refreshes, RLS, and app publishing. Familiarity with source control tools – preferably Azure DevOps (Git-based workflows). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver within timelines.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• PL-300 (Microsoft Certified Data Analyst) or equivalent certification.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data transformation and troubleshooting at the source.
• Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.
• Exposure to GenAI tools in reporting (e.g., Power BI Copilot, ChatGPT-assisted insight generation).
• Background in Operational Excellence or similar process-improvement environments.
