Job Description
PostgreSQL Engineer L3
Location: Hyderabad/Bangalore/Delhi NCR
Experience: 5-8 years

Responsibilities
- Act as subject matter expert for PostgreSQL database operations and automation across hybrid environments.
- Configure and maintain high availability (HA) and replication strategies for mission-critical databases.
- Design and implement backup and recovery policies using pgBackRest or Commvault integrations.
- Optimize queries, indexes, and storage parameters to improve performance and resource utilization.
- Automate patch deployment, version upgrades, and DR validation using Ansible or Jenkins pipelines.
- Collaborate with application teams to tune SQL and connection pools for production workloads.
- Integrate PostgreSQL metrics into Splunk and AWS CloudWatch/Azure Monitor for proactive monitoring and analytics.
- Lead problem management and RCA documentation for database incidents.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Good years of experience in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and automation.
- Strong understanding of replication, HA, and disaster recovery architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL scripting, and query optimization.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- Primary: PostgreSQL 12+, pgBackRest, Ansible, Jenkins, AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, Splunk.
- Secondary: Linux, Python, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Prometheus, CloudWatch.
- Certifications: PostgreSQL DBA / AWS Database Specialty.
