About the Role:

Seeking an experienced legal professional to serve as the President of the Apex Internal Committee (IC) under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act).


The individual will provide independent oversight, legal expertise, and procedural guidance in handling complaints related to workplace sexual harassment and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Committee Leadership

  • Serve as President of the Internal Committee (IC) for Apex POSH compliance.
  • Guide all ICs across the organisation in conducting fair, unbiased, and legally compliant inquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to the procedures outlined under the POSH Act.

2. Complaint Handling & Inquiry Process

  • Participate in complaint review, inquiry proceedings, and hearings.
  • Assist in preparing investigation reports and recommendations to the employer.

3. Legal & Compliance Advisory

  • Provide guidance on legal interpretation and application of POSH laws.
  • Ensure company policies align with statutory POSH requirements.
  • Support in drafting IC reports, annual reports, and documentation as mandated by law.

4. Awareness & Training

  • Participate in or conduct POSH awareness sessions and training programs for employees and management.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for creating a safe and inclusive workplace.

5. Governance & Documentation

  • Ensure proper documentation of complaints, proceedings, and resolutions.
  • Assist in preparation of the Annual POSH Report required to be submitted to authorities.


Qualifications

  • LLB / LLM or equivalent legal qualification
  • Minimum 710 years of legal experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of POSH law, workplace investigations, and employment law
  • Experience serving as an External Member or advisor to POSH/Internal Committees preferred


Key Skills

  • Experience in conducting investigations or quasi-judicial proceedings
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, and report writing skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality


Preferred Background

  • Advocate, legal consultant, or professional associated with NGOs or organizations working in the field of womens rights, workplace safety, or legal compliance.
  • Prior experience as POSH External Member / Committee Chair
