The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Portfolio Manager to serve as the financial steward for our early-stage Venture Capital investments. This "player-coach" role acts as a critical bridge between founders and investors, ensuring disciplined financial oversight, transparent reporting, and strategic value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Stewardship: Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting for 8-10 portfolio companies; deliver consolidated dashboards and investor-ready packs.
- Cash Runway Management: Monitor burn rates and working capital; provide proactive alerts and recommended corrective actions when runway falls below 12 months.
- Governance & Compliance: Review internal controls and oversee external audits, statutory filings, and tax compliance to ensure companies are "DD-ready" for future rounds.
- Strategic Finance Partnering: Act as a finance partner to founders, implementing budgeting processes and mentoring finance leads.
- Investment Support: Support the investment team with financial models, valuation frameworks, and scenario analysis for follow-on decisions and exit planning.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and present quarterly performance updates to the Investment Committee.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA) .
- Experience: Total 6+ years of experience, with at least 4 years specifically in Big-6 financial due diligence .
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in transaction DD, red-flag identification, and Indian GAAP/IFRS.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Soft Skills: Strong maturity to negotiate with founders and the communication skills to resolve conflicts and manage investor expectations.
