What are the ongoing responsibilities of Portfolio Manager – Gift City?

  • Assist with the management of funds to meet or exceed investment performance standards and fund objectives, while adhering to client-specified or regulatory restrictions and constraints.

  • Engage with clients, intermediaries, consultants, internal marketing, and sales teams.

  • Adhere to established investment policy guidelines.

  • Communicate the investment philosophy, process, and performance of products in both a client service and sales capacity for mutual funds and separate accounts to Retail platforms/channels and Institutional clients and prospects. Also provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends, and the investment team’s outlook.

  • Work closely with the Distribution team and Client Relationship Managers to establish new relationships and maintain or grow existing client relationships.

  • Promote, defend, and competitively position the product line, actively contributing to distribution initiatives and servicing key channels and clients.

  • Collaborate with the Principal Officer in Gift City to demonstrate strategic direction-setting and prioritization.

  • Take ownership of the gathering and retention of assets under management.

  • Provide portfolio management perspectives to internal business partners, including Sales and Marketing, to create strategic/global messaging and investment content for assigned investment strategies.

  • Be responsible for challenging and validating the appropriateness of investment strategy and processes to meet clients' stated needs within the agreed guidelines.

  • Stay current with identified market trends and the competitive landscape, including the relative positioning of the investment team.

  • Contribute, as needed, to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) addressing complex investment questions.

  • Support the development of investment commentaries and thought leadership pieces.

  • Participate in and help facilitate the creation of investment content and product messaging.

  • Utilize expert knowledge of the financial services industry, FT products and solutions, and the competitive landscape to support clients and distributors.

  • Promote, defend, and competitively position the product line, and actively participate in distribution initiatives and servicing of key channels and clients.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful in this role?

  • Master’s degree or MBA; CFA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in the financial services industry; prior experience as a Wealth Manager, Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, Product Specialist, or Portfolio Specialist is desirable.

  • Strong understanding of capital markets, with particular knowledge of the Indian equity markets.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with distribution channels, investment vehicles, and pricing structures.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-management skills; self-motivated, resourceful, and entrepreneurial.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Shift Timings - 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST
